On the 10th of November 1975, the Edmund Fitzgerald, once the Great Lakes largest iron ore carrier, disappeared without a trace. There were no desperate radio calls from her crew for help or signal flares launched. Minutes before she disappeared, the Captain of the Fitzgerald radioed to another ship that they were "holding their own" through the storm that was raging around them. That was the last communication ever heard from the Edmund Fitzgerald. Many people have viewed the underwater footage and have poured through the stacks of documents and records gathered over the years since the tragedy. They have listened to testimony from people who have seen the wreckage personally and from former crew members who sailed on her. No one has ever figured out exactly why she sank 530 feet straight down to the bottom of Lake Superior, killing her entire crew of 29 men. This CD-ROM contains underwater footage of the shipwreck, interviews with investigators and former crew, and the actual radio communications between the U.S. Coast Guard and the last ship to see the Edmund Fitzgerald. See the different theories animated, to show you what might of happened, along with video of her construction and launch. It is all there, plus so much more! The information provided by this CD-ROM is the same information used by the professional investigators who tried to solve this mystery. They couldn’t, can you? |

"As a family member, I was a little shaky when I first looked at what the CD contained, but I would recommend it to anyone asking for a source of information on the Fitzgerald." - Mary Wilhelm whose father Blaine Wilhelm was one of the 29 men who lost their lives to Lake Superior.
